Storytime With Bose

Reconnected Family Relationships

StoryTime with Bose is a project I did in Bose Audio Design Challenge. As a product designer, I help the team to generate innovative idea, refine our target user and product's features. We prototype a co-create headset which could record binary audio and create story within family by a simple app. In the end, we won the Marketability reward.

User Research

In the competition, we were lucky to interview Julia, a staff and a mother in our program. During the interview, we realized that most of parents want to participate and connect deeper with children, but they are not able to spend enough time because of their work. On the other hand, children want to make their imagination real, but they usually are not able to communicate and share their stories in a better way.

BrainStorm

We use 6-3-5 brain-writing to generate a lot of creative ideas. For instance, we have "Secret Diary" which could change the frequency of sound and record your personal story in your dairy. We also have "Scavenger Hunt" which could let children recognize sounds from different directions and find certain object. After that, we present these ideas with Bose staffs and interview with Julia, we decide to prototype "Story time" since we really feel connection with user in this idea.

Prototype

We use a journey map to help our client understand the original idea behind our Product. First, we prototype a co-create headset which has vibrating feedback to notify recording. Secondly, with the binary audio feature, we could record sounds from different directions and tell a more realistic and better story. Finally, we design a simple app with educational and kid-friendly UX to show children's imagination and reconnect family's relationships.
